“Felt/ Faux leather”, 2023, Gulf Coast Native Sheep Wool, Georgia Wild Clay, Faux Leather, Steel, Wood, 20” x 20” x 12”
This piece is a contrasting sculpture of the fragile and substantial. The centerpiece is created from Georgia wild clay and my own blood. The ceramic piece is an organic abstract sculpture with a vein-like texture. It is coated in unprocessed blood, giving it a lifelike and raw appearance. The concrete holding it in place is indicative of urban decay. The exposed rebar and negative space frame the ceramic piece. It is reminiscent of of industrial failure and human tragedy
